Military Buildings, sanction any further outlay on this account but, should this opinion prove erroneous, then, I would remark,-

there are many

other sites where

such Buildings could be

constructed. It would moreover finestrate one object that I understand is sought for sig:- the enlargement of the Parade Ground, which is said to be

too small even for the movement of a single Battalion._ Under this explanation, I trust that

• Your Lordship will see fit to decide that the ground is not to be alienated from the purposes to which it has ever since the formation of the Colony been devoted, and confirm the decision of Lord Stanley

who directed that this ground should not be encumbered with Military Works. Should

your Lordship think proper to adopt these suggestions, the reserved. ground in question would always of course, be available for Parade purposes, when it might be required._

In conclusion, My Lord, I would respectfully remark that if this ground which has always, been understood to have been set aside for the benefit of the Public, and which is the only place of recreation for that part of the Community whose means do not allow them to keep storses and Carriages, be taken from them, I am satisfied the
